Terms of use

The Africa Groundwater Atlas is hosted by the British Geological Survey (BGS) and is governed by their terms of use, which can be found here: BGS Terms of Use.

By using this site you confirm you accept BGS terms of use, and that you agree to comply with them.

The country hydrogeology pages within the Africa Groundwater Atlas are released under a Creative Commons ‘Attribution/Share Alike’ (CC BY SA 3.0) licence.

Under the CC BY SA licence, users are free to share and adapt the content for any purpose, including commercially, but when sharing must: give appropriate credit; provide a link to the licence; and indicate if they have made any changes to the content. 'Content' applies to text and images. Any derivative work must be shared under the same Creative Commons ‘Attribution/Share Alike CC BY SA licence. Users may not apply legal terms or technological measures that legally restrict others from doing anything that this licence permits.
