Chalk Group Lithostratigraphy: Northern England - Riby Marl

The Riby Marl, up to 50 mm thick, is named after Riby Quarry [TA 174 062] (Wood & Smith, 1978), and falls in the interval between the Southerham Marl 2 and Caburn Marl of the lower Lewes Nodular Chalk Member in southern England, and between the Mt. Ephraim Marl and Twin Marl in the East Anglian Chalk Group succession (Mortimore & Wood, 1986).
