Chalk Group Lithostratigraphy: Northern England - West Nook Marls

Whitham (1993) included in the West Nook Marls three grey silty marls, each 20-30 mm thick, and c. 0.5 m apart, but subsequently Mitchell (1994) recognised a fourth marl in the group, 0.93 m above the highest seen by Whitham.
