Gaster (1924, 1927, 1929, 1932, 1937, 1941, 1944) - Saccocoma cretacea Subzone

Biostratigraphical correlation: Gaster appears to have regarded the S. cretacea Subzone as being co-extensive with his A. quadratus Zone, and therefore equivalent to the Applinocrinus cretaceus Subzone and post Applinocrinus beds of current usage.

Lithostratigraphical correlation: Equates with the middle and upper parts of the Culver Chalk Formation, and basal Portsdown Chalk Formation of southern England.
