I am a 5th year student at Edinburgh University, studying for an MEarthSci in Geology. I began volunteering at the BGS in my second year, where I have been involved with many projects including photographing thin sections in the Scottish collection, documenting thin sections from Eyjafjallajökull, documenting photos from BGS fieldwork in Afar and writing articles for the BGS blog. My main interest is in volcanology, and so where possible I have been involved with volcanology projects. I spent my third year studying abroad at Auckland University, where I was lucky enough to spend a week of work experience at GNS Science, volunteering with their volcanology department. I also spent a month volunteering with the volcanology department of the Icelandic Meteorological Office in the summer of 2015.
