BGS geological surveyor for 32 years previously based in the BGS Leeds, Aberyswyth, Nottingham and Cardiff offices; former Regional Geologist for Wales and subsequently Chief Geologist Wales and Head of Station at the BGS Cardiff Office. Retired from BGS in 2010 and appointed Honorary Research Associate in the same year. Awarded MBE for services to science in 2011. Currently, Honorary Professor and part-time lecturer at Aberystwyth University where I teach a 3rd year module on Welsh Mineral Resources. Author of numerous BGS books, scientific and commercial reports, including 3 BGS memoirs, and peer-reviewed scientific papers.
