Biomarkers:

• Stensioeina granulata granulata becomes rare at or near the upper boundary of the zone.

Macrofaunal correlation: Early (but not basal) M. coranguinum Zone (Hope Point Marl and Belle Tout Marl 2) to mid M. coranguinum Zone (Chartham Flint, Bailey’s Hill Flint and lateral equivalents).

Age: Late Coniacian & Early Santonian
