The lithologically distinctive Larry Bane Member divides the Ulster White Limestone into Pre-Larry Bane and Post-Larry Bane successions, and serves as a ready means of classifying many coastal exposures (Fletcher, 1977). The Pre-Larry Bane Chalk White Limestone reaches a maximum thickness of 26 m near Glenarm [IGR D 304 156], but is locally completely absent (Fletcher, 1977).
