Leave Liverpool Street Station at 1.49, due Chingford at 2.21. Take cheap return tickets to Chingford, 1s.

Visit the extensive sections exposed in the excavations for the new reservoirs at Ponder's End, showing Holocene alluvial deposits resting on Pleistocene gravel. Molluscan remains are very common in the alluvial beds, and mammalian remains also occur.

There are good sections in the works for photographing especially worth recording, as they will be destroyed.

Tea at the Bull Inn, Chingford. Plain tea, 1s. ; with eggs, 1s. 6d. ; with ham, 1s. 9d.

Return train : Chingford 7.25, due Liverpool Street Station 7.58.

Total walking distance four miles.
