Leave Cannon Street 12.57, arrive Northfleet 1.42. Take ordinary cheap day-excursion tickets, 1s. 6d. return.

Proceed to Galley Hill, where portion of dene-hole can be seen. Then to Dearden's Gravel Pit at Greenhithe, which has yielded shells, bones, and Palaeolithic flint implements 100 ft. contour. Walk on to Milton Street Gravel Pits at similar elevation. Search for Palaeoliths and erratic pebbles in the gravel.

Proceed to Swanscombe Park (Neolithic factory). Ascend to top of hill, where there is an old British earth-work at 286 O.D. At the south-west corner of the hill the Director will describe the physical geology of the district.

Tea at Northfleet Workmen's Institute about 5 p.m. 1s. each. After tea proceed to Baker's Hole Chalk Quarry, where the Director has found Palaeolithic implements in the "Bullhead " bed of Chalk rubble, 30-40 ft. O.D.

Return train : Northfleet depart 8.40. Arrive Cannon Street 9.28.
