Train leaves Cannon St. 1.25 arriving at Tonbridge 2.21. Special return fare 3. 6d. each Meet Excursion Secretary under clock inside station not later than 1.10 p.m.

Proceed to the works of the Quarry Hill Brick Company to see section of -Wadhurst Clay and Ashdown Sand, and a fault (reversed) showing the two beds. Nodules of clay ironstone, the iron ore of the old Wealden furnaces, may be seen, and specimens of Entomostraca obtained. Thin strata of limestone with Cyrena and Paludina, many of them carrying cone-in-cone structure, are to be found in thisquarry.

Walk to Vauxhall Lane to see another fault—Wadhurst Clay and Ashdown Sand—figured in the frontispiece of Prestwich's "Geology."

To Castle Hill Brick Works to inspect another section of Wadhurst Clay wherespecimens of Paludina and Cyrena marble may be obtained.Castle Hill (430 ft. O.D.) to inspect the site of a Neolithic settlement, with its.well-marked entrenchments.

To Sornerhill —the seat of O. E. d'Avigdor Goldsmid, Esq.—to obtain a panoramic view of the Medway valley, with the Greensand and Chalk escarpments. If time permits, Mr. Goldsmid will be pleased for the party to visit the private ground's and gardens.

To Upper Postern to see a section of Tunbridge Wells Sand.

Tea at the Angel Hotel, Tonbridge (close to the railway station). Plain tea, 1s. meal tea, 1s. 6d. each.

Return train 7.30, arriving Cannon St. 8.46.

Total walking distance 6 miles.

Section: N.N.E. to S.S.W. through cross -roads at top of Starve Crow Hill and Tonbridge Railway Station.
