Oblique aerial view of the Berwickshire coast at Brander, 1.3 km. east of Fast Castle, Berwickshire. Anticline in Silurian rocks. View from the north-east of a spectacular anticline in Silurian (Llandovery) rocks at Brander, about 1.3 km. east of Fast Castle, Berwickshire. A subsidiary anticline can be seen on the cliffs behind, in line with the headland. A syncline on the foreshore farther to the right (north-west) plunges at a low angle towards the land, resulting in a visible divergence in that direction of the beds on either side.
