Announcement of the Motor Excursion to Surrey (Circular, 167, 1914).

Motor excursion in Surrey.—Saturday. June 6th, 1914.

DIRECTORS: THE PRESIDENT and DOUGLAS LEIGHTON, F.G.S.

EXCURSION SECRETARY: E. C. MARTIN, Hatfield, Lower Park Road, Loughton, Essex.

Assemble at the south side of Trafalgar Square at 9.45 a.m. Start at 10 a.m. sharp, in covered motor charabane, fare 5s. 6d. Seats are limited in number, and cannot be guaranteed unless booked beforehand. Apply to Mr. Martin at once, enclosing stamped addressed envelope for reply. A call will be made at Victoria (Buckingham Palace Road) at 10.5 to pick up members. Bring lunch. Tea at Wotton Hatch, 1s. 4d. each, This excursion has been arranged to form a general and comprehensive traverse of the beds forming the northern limb of the Wealden Anticline as exposed in Mid Surrey, and numerous sections will be visited, ranging from the Bagshot Sands to the Weald Clay. and special auenrion will be given to the physical features of the area. The route lies through a very picturesque district, and from Pitch Hill, almost the most southerly point to be touched, a splendid view over the Weald can be obtained. 4 The following will be the route: Putney Bridge, Wimbledon Common, Kingston, EsherJ Ouhott. Leatherhead, Bookham, Horsley, Clandon, Newlands Corner, Shere, Pitch Hill, Ewhurst, Felday, Wotton, Dorking, Headley, Epsom, and Merton, arriving back at Charing Cross about 8 p.m.
