Major groundwater projects in Namibia include the following:

BGR

The BGR (the German Federal Institute for Geosciences and Natural Resources) was involved in groundwater projects in the Cuvelai-Etosha transboundary basin in the north of Namibia, in cooperation with the Department of Water Affairs and Forestry (DWAF). These ran from 2009 to 2015.

The Groundwater for the North of Namibia project provided hydrogeological baseline information to improve understanding of the groundwater potential in the Cuvelai-Etosha basin in this part of Nambia, and introduce groundwater management procedures.

The Kalahari: Hydrogeology and Sedimentology of the Cuvelai-Etosha Basin project, also called the 'Kalahari Sediments' project, specifically investigated the paleoclimatological influence of the genesis of the sediments that make up the Cuvelai-Etosha basin aquifer in this part of Namibia. New boreholes were drilled and tested to investigate the groundwater resource.

Outputs from the project can be found on the project websites (links above).
