The subzone is characterised by Subprionocyclus normalis and Baculites undulatus, and has been proved in Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and Surrey (Gale, 1996). The subzone appears to equate with the upper S. plana Zone of the standard macrofossil zonal scheme (Gale, 1996).
