Julio Almeida is a Brazilian geologist, associate professor at Rio de Janeiro State University. The principal interests are structural geology of regions and its connection with natural resources and relief evolution. Working on the evolution of mobile belts and passive margins evolution Julio has visited some of the most famous geological spots in the world as Scotish Highlands, Pirineus, Alps, Rocky Mountains, Andes and some of the Precambrian mobile belts in South America and Europe.
