British Geological Survey Petrology Collection sample number MC 7395. The mica prospect is located at an altitude of 2000 feet. The deposit occurs in a dyke-like or vein-like body of white, quartz-rich albite pegmatite about 12 feet in width and concordant with the strike of the adjacent schists. The mica books vary in size with the largest eight inches in diameter and four inches in thickness. There are other pegmatites in the area but the micas rarely exceed two inches in diameter and half an inch thick.
