This locality, Beinn Resipol, is one of the six localities recommended for further investigation for commercial production of mica during the Second World War. It was rejected as it compared unfavourably with the deposit at Knoydart. Mica was a strategic mineral at this period due to the difficulty of obtaining it from India. Muscovite is a hydrous potassium aluminium silicate belonging to the phyllosilicates.
