Elution of the phosphate (and minor quantities of other anions) from the resin was performed using 0.3&amp;amp;nbsp;M potassium chloride solution and was carried out by passing the eluent through the anion exchange resin section of the column.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Fist the peristaltic pump was disconnected from the tubing at the top of the Dax-8 syringes and reconnected directly to the tubing leading into the anion exchange resin syringes.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
O.3&amp;amp;nbsp;M&amp;amp;nbsp;KCl was pumped through the anion exchange resin at 2&amp;amp;nbsp;ml/min and the eluted phosphate sample collected in 125&amp;amp;nbsp;ml nalgene™ bottles. The first 100&amp;amp;nbsp;ml of sample was collected for the phosphate sample.
