This list includes most national (country) scale groundwater maps in Africa, with links to where they can be accessed online if available.

It also includes selected sub national groundwater maps, which are indicated by italic text. There are many more sub national hydrogeological, groundwater resource and thematic groundwater maps that are not included here (usually because we are not aware of them, or because they cover a very small area): most were produced for specific projects or activities, and many are only available as images in project reports.

This list also includes a very few maps that cover more than one country, most of which (but not all) were made during colonial, pre-independence times. These are strictly transboundary maps, but listed here for convenience.

Most of the maps listed here are traditional hydrogeological or groundwater resource maps; a few focus on particular themes related to groundwater.

Most of the older (pre 1995) maps are drawn from a list published by Struckmeier & Margat (1995).
