Introduction to BritGeoWiki

Collaboration

The aims of EarthwiseTM are to disseminate the outputs of BGS research and to promote free exchange of information by the wider geological community.

The core articles presented here are written by BGS authors and cannot be edited by non-BGS users but we welcome your comments and encourage you contribute your own articles on related topics.

The articles are grouped in categories (topics) and subcategories with lists of the individual pages making up the topic. On each category page you are given the choice of reading the pages, commenting on the pages or contributing your own article. To contribute to EarthwiseTM you must first register.

Choice of browser

For the best experience when creating, reviewing and editing pages in EarthwiseTM, we recommend using a browser that is fully supported by MediaWiki. Supported browsers natively handle JavaScript formatting and advanced editing tools, including VisualEditor.

The following browsers and versions are fully supported:

Google Chrome: Versions released within the last three years. Microsoft Edge: Chromium-based versions 79 and later. Mozilla Firefox: The current stable version and the previous Extended Support Release (ESR) version. Apple Safari: Desktop versions 14 and later on macOS, and mobile versions 14 and later on iOS.
