The Beacon Hill Marl (stratotype: Beacon Hill [TA 025 197] ) is typically up to 20 mm thick (although locally reduced to just a marl wisp) and usually overlies a bed of elliptical grey flints (Wood & Smith, 1978). Macrofossil Biozonation: T. lata Zone
