Biostratigraphical correlation: Equates with the topmost Subzone of abundant O. pilula and the Hagenowia Horizon of current usage (Young & Lake, 1988).

Lithostratigraphical correlation: Mostly equates with the basal and lower parts of the Culver Chalk Formation, but can also include the top of the underlying Newhaven Chalk Formation of southern England.

Age: Campanian
