Or could the undulating base be an older sand and gravel unit (?gsg6), maybe a buried channel, with ‘algr’ on top and seen at the surface? (see 50k map section1 with gsg under blown sands. Also drew a smear of Baddock Till in the section, shown in bh but not on the map.
