There are five locations currently planned (October 2018). All are within Clyde Gateway regeneration area, which is south-east of the centre of Glasgow, and is on both sides of the River Clyde (see Figure 1 below).

Target formations

The Scottish Middle and Lower Coal Measures formations have been extensively mined in the area and these partially open or collapsed mines are the target formations for low temperature geothermal energy and thermal storage.
